Claughton House

Claughton House is a beautiful five bedroom home located in 8 acres of lush tropical gardens with spectacular ocean views. The home is located in a secured gated compound and the winding driveway leads up to the entrance. The long hallway leads to the spacious living area with magnificent views of the Indian Ocean, the elegant lawn dotted with coconut trees and the white sands of Kudawella Beach.

To the left of the hallway is a door that leads into a tropical courtyard complete with a shower, 2 chairs and a table. A great little place to relax and unwind. A door at the end of the courtyard leads to one of the bedrooms which features twin beds, a sofa and en-suite bathroom. Another bedroom is located just past the living room and has twin beds as well as an en-suite bathroom. This bedroom benefits from a private courtyard with outdoor shower.

The master bedroom at Claughton House is located on the other side of the terrace and has built in wardrobes, white slatted doors, a desk, sofa and a large king-size bed. The en-suite bathroom is large with shower and bath. Outdoors, the courtyard has an al fresco shower. A small south facing balcony at the front of the room looks out over the garden to the sea.

The fourth bedroom and the TV/Games room are accessed by walking across the garden around the front of the master bedroom (or through the kitchen) and then via a covered walkway. This bedroom features a floating double bed on an upper level of this duplex en-suite room. There is a large south facing terrace that look across the garden and out to sea. A little further along the covered walkway leads to the Games room with table tennis, chess and cards. A connecting door to the TV room leads to another bedroom with twin beds and en-suite bathroom.

The main area of Claughton House has been designed so you can enjoy the surrounding ocean views from most of the rooms. The upper terrace is the dining level with a long polished cement table and sideboard. The middle tier has a two sofas and a huge bean bag chair and the lower level is decked with seats and a coffee table.

The swimming pool is at the end of the garden and the pool terrace is furnished with comfy sun loungers and day beds. The twin levelled pool provides a shallow platform for relaxing, while the deeper end is perfect for a mid-afternoon plunge. There is a small BBQ kitchen by the pool.

A foot path leads away from the pool to a private beach access. The white sands of Kudawella Beach are good for morning runs or evening strolls, and the bay enjoys good surf breaks.
