Denis Private Island is an exclusive island retreat and is located 95 kilometres north of the main island of Mahé. It is a fantastic choice for those looking for luxury Seychelles accommodation.  It is surrounded by powder-soft white sandy beaches and the turquoise waters of Denis’ sheltered lagoon provides for unrivalled swimming, and guests can snorkel amongst turtles and exotic marine life off the house reef just metres from the shore. On-going conservation projects to restore part of the island to its pre- discovery state have seen over 50 hectares of woodland rehabilitated, giant tortoises meander along there is a combination of some of the world’s most endangered endemic species.

Denis Private Island boasts 25 elegant cottages which have been decorated in a natural theme. The cottages are spread amidst casuarinas and coconut trees on either side of the main house, a stone’s throw away from the beach. The island even has its own farm and produces fresh vegetables, milk, yogurt, cheese, poultry, pork and all are organic produce.

Alongside are pathways and tracks that meander through the coconut groves and into the forested interior of the island. Each cottage has its own private beach front and sea-facing verandah and outdoor courtyard.

Beach Cottages – These offer 90 square metres of living space and are located on the private beach with sun loungers. There is a king-size bed, sitting area, iPod docking station, writing desk, safe, tea & coffee making facilities, mini-fridge and air-conditioning. There is a bathroom with shower, double vanity and bath.

Deluxe Beach Cottages – These are slightly more spacious with 130 square metres of living space with a private deck and daybed. The Deluxe Beach Cottage is the only cottage category that is set slightly further back, in a garden, rather than being directly on the beach. It has a sea view and direct private beach access.

Beachfront Spa Cottages – These are located on the beachfront with sun loungers and have extended sea-facing private deck with daybed and has 150 square metres of living space. They also feature a private courtyard with separate entrance with Alfresco shower and Spa Pavilion.

Family Cottage – This cottage has 169 square metres of living space and also has an extended private deck with sitting and dining area. This category also includes one evening complimentary baby-sitting per stay and complimentary in-room dining between 1730-1900 for children up to 12 years old*.

Beach Villa – The Beach Villa is 325 square metres in size and located in a private beachfront setting. It features a private plunge pool and dining pavilion.

The rates include breakfast, lunch and dinner. The restaurant/bar/lounge is in an impressive building located on the seafront.

There are lots of activities to do on the island from Scuba Diving lessons, snorkelling, bike riding, nature walks, tours of the island. Or the library houses a selection of magazines and books.

A range of treatments and massages using natural products including island-produced coconut oil is offered in the intimacy of the cottages or the dedicated massage salas in the courtyards of the cottages.

Denis Island is part of the Seychelles Inner Island Group 95 kms north of the main island of Mahe, it is accessible by light aircraft (a 30 minute journey). Boat transfers are not allowed. Private helicopter and aircraft charters may be organised.
