Madeira is the largest of an archipelago comprising four islands off the northwest coast of Africa and is an autonomous region of Portugal. Being just a three and a half flight from the UK its within easy reach.

The islands geogprahy is volcanic, green and rugged and boasts high cliffs and pebble beaches and year round warm climate. The destination is a haven from today’s modern society and offers superb accommodation, fantastic scenery and an escape from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

The capital Funchal is renowned for its food and events, namely the spectacular New Year’s fireworks and the wonderful flower festival. We recommend wandering the streets of the old town and discovering the restaurants , shops and waterfront. We feature several lovely villas within easy reach of this lovely town as well as other locations across the island.

Thanks to its excellent geographical location and mountainous relief, the islands have surprisingly balmy weather with moderate humidity and pleasant average temperatures of 25ºC in the summer and 17ºC in the winter. The sea temperature is also very mild, thanks to the influence of the warm Gulf Stream, averaging 22ºC in the summer and 18ºC in the winter.
