Villa Imperiale sits at the very top of the hillside village of Monforte d'Alba. It is a beautifully restored property that manages to feel both genuinely historic and completely contemporary. Carefully renovated by local artisans who preserved the original materials throughout, the villa bridges tradition and innovation, complemented by design furnishings and artwork. The villa sleeps up to 11 guests across six en-suite bedrooms spread over three floors, all fully air conditioned. On the ground floor, a beautiful lounge with high vaulted ceilings opens onto the outdoor garden, with a relaxed corner of cosy sofas and stylish armchairs, a large dining table, and a wine cellar stocked with fine wines, cheeses and local delicacies. An open mezzanine above the main salon provides a TV corner alongside areas for reading and music.

Outside, a private pool makes the most of Villa Imperiale's elevated position, surrounded by the vineyard-covered hills that have made this corner of Piedmont famous all over the world. Personalised concierge services are available throughout the stay, ensuring everything from wine tastings to restaurant reservations can be arranged with ease.

The village of Monforte d'Alba is right on the doorstep. Spend your days wandering along narrow alleys, discovering local wine bars and dropping into the village trattorias. From here, the wider Langhe is easily explored: the famous Barolo and La Morra are close neighbours, and the region's rolling hills and medieval villages offer a landscape that is genuinely breathtaking in every season. For those who take their food and wine seriously, it's hard to think of a better base. The Langhe is home to an impressive collection of high-quality trattorias and multiple Michelin-starred restaurants, and as locals say, it is not to be visited but to be tasted.
