Villa Tramonto is a five bedroom property that has been carefully rebuilt from an ancient farmhouse. The design strikes the perfect balance between rustic character and modern comfort. Spread across 250 sqm on a single floor, with accessibility firmly in mind throughout, the villa comfortably accommodates up to ten guests, making it an excellent choice for larger groups or multigenerational families.
The main floor has a generous open-plan living area and kitchen with an island, opening directly onto a covered outdoor terrace. There's also a wine cellar, a fitting touch for a property in the heart of Piedmont wine country. The floor is also home to two double bedrooms each with their own en-suite shower room, and two further double bedrooms sharing a large, wheelchair-accessible shower room. A second living area and TV room sit on the upper level, along with a fifth double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a nicely private space for guests who want a little separation from the rest of the group.
Outside, the villa really comes into its own. A 16m swimming pool with a wheelchair-accessible ramp takes centre stage, surrounded by terraces and gardens with sweeping views over the rolling Piedmont hills. Hammocks, sun loungers, a barbecue and a fire pit make for effortless days outdoors, while a large covered dining terrace provides the perfect setting for long lunches and leisurely dinners, ideally with a bottle or two from the region close at hand.
Villa Tramonto sits in Roccaverano, one of the highest villages in the Piedmont vineyard region at 750 metres above sea level, with the kind of tranquillity and seclusion that's genuinely difficult to find. The surrounding area is rich with history, home to castles, monasteries and hill towns each with their own story. The famous Barolo region is close by, and the truffle, cheese and wine festivals of Alba and Asti are well worth timing a visit around. Conveniently positioned between Milan and Turin, with the northern Italian lakes, the Alps and the Ligurian coast all within reach, it's a wonderfully well-placed base for exploring one of Italy's most rewarding corners.
Please note: The villa is remotely located on a hillside, accessed by an unpaved and unfenced road of about 500 m; a SUV or 4×4 car would be recommended, but it is possible with a normal car, driving slowly and paying careful attention. The swimming pool is open approximately from May to mid-October.
