Set in the peaceful countryside of Puglia, Villa Vela is a traditional stone residence surrounded by ancient olive trees and open farmland. The property combines the character of classic Apulian architecture with elegant furnishings and comfortable modern amenities, creating a welcoming retreat for families or groups of friends. Thick limestone walls and vaulted stone ceilings reflect the region’s traditional building style, while the spacious grounds offer plenty of room to relax and enjoy the rural setting. The historic towns of Ostuni and Ceglie Messapica are both within easy driving distance, making the villa a convenient base for exploring this part of southern Italy.
Villa Vela accommodates up to 12 guests across six bedrooms and six bathrooms, with the accommodation spread between the main villa, a traditional trullo and a separate annex. This arrangement offers flexibility for larger groups, allowing guests to enjoy time together while retaining some privacy. The main house has four bedrooms, two on the ground floor with direct access to the garden and two on the first floor with access to a terrace. The trullo provides a distinctive additional suite with an en-suite bathroom featuring a Jacuzzi bath, while the independent annex has a further bedroom with its own shower room. All bedrooms are air conditioned. Inside the main villa, a comfortable sitting room features a vaulted ceiling, two sofas and a characterful fireplace set into the stone wall. The adjoining dining room has generous tables with space for up to 20 guests, while the traditional kitchen is fully equipped for preparing meals during your stay.
Outside, the extensive grounds are shaded by ancient olive trees, creating a peaceful setting for relaxing in the Puglian sunshine. A private swimming pool is surrounded by sun loungers, providing a place to cool off during the warmer months, while the gardens offer plenty of space to unwind or enjoy a quiet moment in the shade. The rural surroundings lend themselves to leisurely afternoons outdoors, whether reading by the pool, sharing a glass of local wine or gathering with friends for an evening meal. Ample parking is also available at the property.
Villa Vela is well positioned for discovering the towns, countryside and coastline of Puglia. Ceglie Messapica, around 10 minutes away by car, is known for its medieval centre and excellent traditional restaurants, while Ostuni, often called the White City, is approximately 20 minutes away, with whitewashed streets, historic churches and attractive piazzas to explore. The Adriatic beaches are around 30–35 minutes away by car, offering opportunities for swimming and relaxed days by the sea. Further afield, the distinctive trulli of Alberobello and the coastal towns of Monopoli and Savelletri make worthwhile day trips. Combining traditional architecture, generous accommodation and a peaceful countryside setting, Villa Vela is an appealing base for a Puglian villa holiday.
