Set within a vast private estate in eastern Sicily, Villa Solealto is an impressive restored farmhouse surrounded by 120 hectares of land producing organic oranges, mandarins and clementines. Traditional architectural features and original antiques give the property plenty of character, while light-coloured walls and decorative fabrics create a bright, welcoming atmosphere. The extensive grounds are beautifully landscaped with mature trees, flowering shrubs and aromatic Mediterranean plants, providing a peaceful setting for a large family gathering or a holiday with friends. Villa Solealto accommodates up to 20 guests across 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, with accommodation divided between the main farmhouse and a separate boathouse-style annex. The main house has eight bedrooms arranged over two floors. On the ground floor, four bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, with a choice of showers or bathtubs, and all enjoy access to the garden. Upstairs, the master suite has its own bathroom with a bathtub and access to a private terrace, while a further queen bedroom and two flexible queen or twin bedrooms provide additional accommodation. The latter two can be combined to create a family suite. The separate annex has two more bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with twin beds, both with en-suite shower rooms. All bedrooms are air conditioned.

The living spaces combine traditional character with facilities designed for larger groups. On the first floor of the main villa, a furnished library and tea room contains an extensive collection of books about Sicily and its attractions, alongside a small kitchen for guests’ use. The annex houses a bright sitting room and dining room, with large windows overlooking the manicured gardens. A professional-grade kitchen is also located here and is operated by the villa’s staff. Upstairs, a furnished belvedere offers impressive views towards Mount Etna. Outside, a furnished loggia beside the main house provides a shaded spot to enjoy the afternoon breeze, while the large swimming pool forms the centre of another outdoor living area, complete with loungers, tables and parasols. The estate also has a private floodlit tennis court, table tennis, a Finnish sauna and a massage room, with the latter wellness facilities available on request.

Villa Solealto is well positioned for exploring eastern Sicily, with Catania around 35 minutes away by car and Syracuse approximately 50 minutes away. Catania offers lively markets, Baroque architecture and a vibrant restaurant scene, while Syracuse is renowned for its archaeological heritage and the charming island of Ortigia. Taormina makes another rewarding excursion, with its historic streets, Greek theatre and spectacular coastal views. Nature lovers can explore Mount Etna, Europe’s highest active volcano, while the coastline offers beaches and opportunities to discover Sicily’s seaside towns. The villa’s extensive estate, private leisure facilities and staff-supported service make it particularly well suited to larger groups looking for a comfortable countryside retreat with easy access to the island’s cultural highlights.
