Podere Bellavista is an impressive historic villa set within a wine and olive oil-producing estate in the Tuscan countryside, around 40 minutes south of Siena. Once a country residence for several aristocratic Italian families, the property has been carefully restored, retaining its traditional character while incorporating modern comforts. An elegant cypress-lined drive leads to the house, which is surrounded by manicured gardens and enjoys a peaceful, private setting.
The interiors are arranged across four floors, combining original architectural features with antique furnishings, paintings and rich fabrics. High ceilings, original floor tiles, stone fireplaces and painted walls give the reception rooms a sense of grandeur. The ground floor includes a spacious entrance hall with a grand piano, a formal dining room seating up to 22 guests, a fully equipped Tuscan-style kitchen and a separate drawing room. Additional sitting rooms on the upper floors provide space to relax, read or spend time together.
There are eight bedrooms in the main villa, sleeping up to 16 guests, with seven bathrooms. The accommodation includes a master bedroom and several further en-suite bedrooms, as well as a family suite and a panoramic top-floor bedroom. All bedrooms are air-conditioned, and the layout offers a range of options for families and groups travelling together.
The gardens provide plenty of space to enjoy the Tuscan sunshine, with a 14-metre swimming pool set among the lawns and a large courtyard patio arranged for outdoor dining beneath parasols. Guests can also make use of the private tennis court, gym and sauna, while the estate’s vegetable garden supplies seasonal produce. A barbecue and traditional wood-fired pizza oven offer further options for relaxed meals outdoors.
A stay at Podere Bellavista offers the opportunity to enjoy the countryside and food and wine traditions of southern Tuscany, with Siena within easy reach. The surrounding area is dotted with historic hilltop towns and villages, including Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano and San Gimignano, making the villa a good base for exploring the region.
