Majorca's North West boasts some spectacular mountain ranges and offers dramatic scenery, a sense of seclusion, as well as some of Europe's best hiking and biking trails. Many of the bays and shingle beaches along the coast can only be accessed by foot, meaning even during peak season they are refreshingly quiet. It is the perfect place to enjoy a peaceful holiday in your luxury villa.
The North West Coast of Majorca is a rugged and beautiful part of the island. With the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, dominating much of the landscape, with peaks of over 1400m, it provides a dramatic backdrop to the coastline. There are plenty of biking and hiking trails scattered throughout the ranges, as well as olive groves and dense forests.
There are some lovely towns along the coast and inland that are worth visiting including Sóller which is known for its orange and lemon groves, Deià which is perched on a hillside overlooking the sea, and Valldemossa which is known for its well-preserved old town and the Royal Charterhouse of Valldemossa.
We also recommend driving the winding road that leads to the secluded cove of Sa Calobra, where the Torrent de Pareis gorge meets the sea. It is a nature lover's and photographer's dream. Next to Sa Calobra, Cala Tuent offers a more peaceful beach experience, surrounded by pine forests and the imposing Tramuntana mountains.
