Top tips for booking a Villa Holiday

A Villa holiday offers lots of great benefits and our team are here to ensure you have a fantastic holiday. Here are some of our top tips for things to consider when booking.

Pre-Stock your groceries
We work with professional management agencies in all our destinations. There are many benefits of this, including being able to offer a service to pre-stock your villa or apartment with groceries on arrival. We highly recommend this when booking long-haul destinations or villas that may not be within close walking or driving distance to a store.  If your property includes a cook, we recommend pre-ordering an arrival meal and first morning breakfast items so you don’t have to worry about organising food until you are fully settled.

Staffed Villas
Ensure you are fully aware of services that are included with your villa. Luxury properties will often come with staff,  including cooks and housekeepers included in the price. They may or may not work 7 days a week and may only prepare a meal or two a day. If you want additional services then ask for these to be included in advance and be aware of the additional costs involved.

Villas can include staff including cooks, butlers and housekeepers

How many bedrooms?
One great way of saving money on villas is to book a villa that offers discounts if you are using less bedrooms than needed. For instance, a 5 bedroom villa may offer discounted rates if you only want to occupy 3 or 4 bedrooms. You will still have use of the entire property, and the additional space a larger villa will offer. Many villas offer staggered rates, usually in low seasons.

Travelling with Children
If you are travelling with children we recommend you request any items you may need in advance of travelling, such as a cot or high chair. Many villas wont automatically have these on property, and they may incur additional charges. If you are booking an airport transfer or car hire, also ensure an infant car seat is added if needed.

Travel Insurance
Its absolutely essential that you have adequate travel insurance for all those travelling. Your holiday may include ATOL protection, usually when you book a package including flights, and you will receive an ATOL certificate when booking…. ensure you take this with you. Regardless of if you have ATOL or not, your travel insurance should cover you in case of sickness or injury and for any delays or disruption to your holiday. We also recommend ensuring you can claim if you need to cancel your holiday, as often deposits are non-refundable if you need to cancel.
