The island has several lovely beaches to choose from including Captiva Beach which is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and watching breathtaking sunsets, and Turner Beach which is great for shell collecting and fishing, located at the southern tip near the Blind Pass Bridge. The island is known for its colourful shells so be sure to bring a few back!
These are the best months to visit Captiva Island, with pleasant temperatures of 18-27°C and low humidity. It is perfect for enjoying the beach, shell collecting and dolphin spotting. There are also less mosquitoes than in the summer.
This is shoulder season and has fewer crowds and still warm temperatures of 24-29°C. There will be slightly higher humidity but the days will still be mostly warm and sunny.
Low season is characterised by hot humid weather and temperatures of 27-32°C. Hurricane season runs from June to November and will often have rain showers in the afternoon. Crowds are lower but mosquitoes are more prevalent!
