The French Riviera is a wonderful destination for those looking for a villa holiday as it offers a blend of luxury, charm, and breathtaking scenery. From the glitz of Cannes, where world-class dining and designer boutiques line the famous La Croisette, to the peaceful beauty of Cap d’Antibes, with its exclusive waterfront estates and scenic coastal trails, this iconic region has something for everyone. A stay in one of our hand picked luxury villas provides the perfect base to enjoy sun-drenched beaches, private yacht charters, and the vibrant culture of the Côte d’Azur in ultimate comfort.
Nice is a picturesque town with a large oceanfront boardwalk, the Promenade des Anglais. Visit one of its many museums or art galleries and enjoy meandering around the old town with its abundance of restaurants, coffee shops, bars and boutiques. Nearby is the picturesque town of Villefrance-sur-mer, home to some lovely villas and a quaint harbour-front with some great seafood restaurants and creperies.
The exclusive Principality of Monaco is best known for its upscale dining, famous casino, harbours and designer shopping. If you are staying nearby, Monaco is well worth a visit.
Cannes, famous for its annual film festival, is a fabulous choice for a Villa holiday. Its labyrinth of streets offer a myriad of shopping, restaurants and bars open late into the night. Take a stroll along the Boulevard de la Croisette, curving along the coast and is lined with sandy beaches and fabulous spots to enjoy a glass of champagne or two.
The area has several Michelin-starred restaurants to choose from as well as many famous wineries in the Provence region to visit such as Whispering Angel, where you can try the famous rosé. Local dishes worth a try are Socca, a chickpea pancake, and Salade Niçoise.
The region is well known for its luxurious pastimes. Some of the most popular things to do are charter a private yacht to cruise along the coastline, shop at the designer boutiques of Monaco and Saint-Tropez and attend world class events such as the Cannes Film Festival or the Monaco Grand Prix.
The Riviera has some beautiful beaches, some of our favourites include Plage de Pampelonne in Saint-Tropez, one of the area's most famous beaches, lined with chic beach clubs. Paloma Beach in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, a peaceful cove with crystal-clear waters, and also Villefranche-sur-Mer, a charming seaside village with a beautiful sandy bay.
Summer is the peak season on the Riviera. Temperatures are hot (25–30°C), beaches are bustling, nightlife is lively, and glamorous events like the Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Grand Prix take place. Expect higher crowds in the area.
Spring is characterised by pleasant temperatures of around 18–25°C. There are fewer crowds and the landscapes are bursting into life. Autumn boasts warm temperatures of 20–26°C. Both times of the year have fewer crowds making them great months to explore the quaint villages, go wine tasting and enjoy the beach in a more relaxed setting.
Winter has mild temperatures of around 10–16°C. Crowds will be considerably lower and some restaurants and bars may close for the season, however Christmas markets can bring some festive cheer.
