Overview

Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort is located on the south western part of St. Lucia in a stunning beachfront location between the world-famous Pitons. The resort is spread across more than one hundred acres of tropical forest. Formerly a working sugar plantation, the property has had a long history of owners. It has been managed by the prestigious Viceroy Hotel Group since 2008 and had a 100 million dollar refurbishment.

The villas have a plantation style feel and each has a private plunge pool. All of the villas are built in small clusters and furnished with a four-poster bed, custom made white furniture, flat screen TV and iPod docking station, walk-in shower, bathtub, pool terrace and seating area.

Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort has a host of facilities and amenities. Complimentary watersports include windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, Hobiecats and Pedalos. Snorkelling equipment is available but there is a $2 per day Marine Park fee. Complimentary land sports include tennis, pool table, beach volleyball and archery. The hotel also has a fitness centre with state-of-the art equipment and afternoon classes such as Zumba, Step, Yoga and Pilates are offered complimentary to villa guests. Further morning fitness classes and personal training are also available at a charge.

The location of the resort is perfect for diving. A PADI Certified Dive Centre is on site offering full PADI courses and certification available for a charge.

Sugar Beach is family friendly and the hotel provides supervised activities for children between the ages of 4 and 12 years old. Children under 4 will be accommodated when accompanied by an adult. All activities are complimentary, fun and educational and combine the rainforest environment and marine biology information with story-telling, dance classes and craft making.

There are several dining options including:

Bayside Bar & Restaurant -Enjoy open-air sea side dining with a magnificent view of the Pitons, available for lunch and dinner. A la carte lunch is available from 12:30pm to 3:00pm. Dinner is served 6:00pm to 10:30pm.

The Great Room - For discerning diners there is the elegant Great Room, with its old world colonial charm serving Caribbean influenced fare in candlelit surroundings.

The Cane Bar - A specialty rum bar featuring cutting edge style, a glowing white bar, and comfortable over-sized furniture in a palette of white and soft charcoal, as well as a wide selection of rum and a “rummelier” to help guide guests through their choices. In addition to the offerings behind the bar, The Cane Bar also features a Japanese/Asian-inspired menu with fresh sushi and sashimi.

The Terrace- Situated on the ground floor of the Great House, the restaurant features air-conditioned or al fresco dining for breakfast. A family style dinner experience is available on Tuesday evenings.

Late Night Bar - Features funky cutting edge style and fantastic artwork. The charcoal walls off-set brightly coloured asymmetric chairs and large white day beds. In addition to the air-conditioned lounge, there is an open air terrace for cocktails under the stars and in the shadow of the Petit Piton. Room Service

The Rainforest Spa ia one of the best in the Caribbean and has 7 tree house treatment gazebos offering a range of treatments.

Two Bedroom Villa Residence Ocean View - With 1,455 square feet of space, this single story accommodation features a master bedroom with a king-sized bed as well as a second bedroom, and can sleep four adults or two adults and two children. Guests will enjoy a view of the Pitons and the white sands of Sugar Beach across the property’s infinity pool.

Three Bedroom Villa Residence Ocean View - This charming Three Bedroom Luxury Villa has all of the benefits of the larger Three Bedroom Residence but built over two stories and with slightly smaller dimensions. The upper level houses the master bedroom with private balcony, large master bath with claw foot tub and views over crystal Caribbean and the first of two guest bedrooms--this one with twin beds and en-suite shower room. Downstairs is a full kitchen, large living room opening to a beautiful deck and infinity edge pool, and the second guest room with queen size bed and en-suite shower room. Furnished throughout with contemporary island decor, guests enjoy all the comforts of a true tropical home.

One Bedroom Residence Ocean View - This stunning tropical villa home features a large private pool and stunning ocean and Piton views. Decorated to the highest standards, the spacious and luxurious residence provides a true home from home experience with fully fitted kitchens, opulent living areas and a large sun terraces to provide true indoor/outdoor Caribbean living. Additional amenities include:

Two/Three/Four Bedroom Residences – The residences have full kitchen facilities and span over two stories. The residences offers uninterrupted views of the Pitons and the ocean and a private infinity pool. All residences feature iPod docking stations, complimentary internet access, large flat screen TV, tea & coffee making facilities, signature bathroom amenities, private patio and personalized butler service. The Five Bedroom Residence also has laundry facilities, fully-equipped private bar, BBQ and housekeeper, gardener and cook. Chef service is available for additional charge. The Three and Four Bedroom Residences either have ocean view or are located oceanfront or beachfront.
