The beautiful Turks & Caicos islands consist of over 40 islands and cays, eight of which are uninhabited. The islands are located southeast of Miami, Florida and just below the Bahamas chain to the east of Cuba.
The islands are almost as divers as its people; The main tourist centre of Providenciales is a hub of activity or there are the quiet and tranquil islands of North and Middle Caicos, or the historic Capital Island of Grand Turk – each island offers a unique and different experience. But with an all-year round great climate, pristine beaches and crystal-clear waters perfect for diving, snorkeling or swimming, Turks & Caicos is a beautiful destination to visit.
The best way of experiencing the islands is island-hopping – either by boat or by a short plane ride. Alternatively, tourists choose to return time and time again to explore a different area of this stunning archipelago.
Providenciales is the most well known of the Turks & Caicos islands and is the tourist centre with a wide range of hotels, restaurants, attractions and restaurants. Grand Turk and Salt Cay offer a glimpse into times long gone with great Bermudian style architecture and a rustic charm. It has some of the best diving in the region. Middle and North Caicos offers lush green woodlands, the biggest cave network in the Caribbean and a vast array of plant and bird life. Parrot Cay and Pine Cay are privately owned islands and home to the most exclusive resorts in the Caribbean.
With 40 islands and Cays, and Providenciales being a tourist mecca, the region is not short of restaurants or bars, catering to all tastes. Being in the Caribbean, fresh seafood is a popular fare of Turks & Caicos. But with an array of cuisine and bars, there is something for everyone.
