Bolfracks House and Gardens is a beautiful 17th century property set within 40 acres of perfectly manicured gardens and grounds. Located along the River Tay on the outskirts Aberfeldy, the house is also close to Loch Tay, perfect for water sports.
Entering the house, guests will find themselves transported to another time. Wood panelling, antique furnishings, and ornate fireplaces are the epitome of period elegance, while the modern amenities ensure an comfortable and luxurious stay. A full kitchen complete with Aga is available for guests enjoyment, as well as cosy living areas and a games room.
The house features seven bedrooms and six bathrooms. Six bedrooms feature double beds with the final bedroom featuring a single bed.
The gardens really make this property stand out with an impressive collection of rare and decorative plants as well as a spectacular view of the Tay valley. Bolfracks House and Gardens dates back to the 17th and 18th century, originally belonging to the Menzies family, later to be sold into the Taymouth Castle Estate. In 2020 the property was sold to a new couple who fell in love with it at first sight and are dedicated to preserving the original designs of the garden as well as adding some modern amenities.
Loch Tay is a magnificent dark stretch of water, 15 miles (24 km) long and around 508 ft deep. It’s the largest loch in Perthshire and one of the deepest in Scotland. To the north, the loch is flanked by the impressive bulk of the Ben Lawers mountain range, much of which is designated as a National Nature Reserve. Loch Tay is popular with sailing and water-sports enthusiasts and the small shingle beach near Kenmore is perfect for sunbathing.
