Ibiza for all the family

With a huge sandy coastline, remarkable historic architecture and amazing nature reserves, Ibiza is the perfect island to escape to. But the kids may not be immediately won over when you tell them about the beautiful beaches and dramatic fortified Old Town. So we’ve created a handy guide filled with things to do as a family that your kids will definitely give a big thumbs-up to. Read on to discover our top family picks…

Horse Riding

There’s nothing more magical than trotting through the Ibizan countryside on the back of a friendly rescue horse. That’s why we recommend Ibiza Horse Valley . This sanctuary aims to save horses from mistreatment and abandonment and lets their rescue horses roam the huge 99-acre site at will. They also offer a selection of rewarding riding experiences, ranging from half-day jaunts to full-day adventures. An unforgettable experience for all the family.

The Aquamar Waterpark

No family holiday is complete without a trip to the local waterpark, and a trip to Ibiza is no exception. Head to Playa d’en Bossa to discover this retro waterpark, complete with fun racing sides, big ‘kamikaze’ drop rides and plenty of pool space to splash around in. A sure-fire hit!

Aquarium Cap Blanc

This aquarium is a beautiful, natural facility, situated within a genuine geological cave. While it may only have one large display and a few smaller ones, the main tank is simply magical. Spreading out more than 300 square metres across the cave floor, this natural tank holds a variety of indigenous Mediterranean species for you to watch from the bridge above as they playfully flit in and out of the shadows. We recommend heading to stylish San Antoni de Portmany afterward for a spot of lunch and a walk along the marina, counting the boasts as you go…

Explore the Dalt Vila

Translating literally as ‘high town’, this historic district of Ibiza Town is a must-see, although it can seem like a hard-sell if you’ve got children to entertain. But with ancient war cannons, a maze of winding streets and alleyways, and plenty of colour souvenir shops on the way, there’s lots to keep them happy. Make an adventure of it by climbing right to the cathedral at the top – from the panoramic lookout you can get them to count boats in the marina far below! A great day out, and one that keeps everyone active.

A visit to Mojis Animal Sanctuary

For our final attraction, we’ve chosen something a bit different, and a must for animal lovers, this sanctuary was established by one man with a big love for animals. Now there are many thankful dogs, horses and even pigs receiving care and protection under his careful watch. Look out for open days and events, when you can visit Mojis Animal Sanctuary  and have the opportunity to sponsor one of the rescued animals.
