Sardinia is a large Italian island in the Mediterranean Sea located off the west coast of Italy. It boasts nearly 2,000km of coastline, sandy beaches and a mountainous interior crossed with hiking trails. We have beautiful luxury private villas in the north and the south of the island which are the perfect base from which to explore the stunning coastline and try the exceptional local cuisine.
Sardinia is considered a beach haven for many Europeans thanks to its crystal clear turquoise seas. It is the second largest island in the Mediterranean after Sicily and encapsulates the best of the Mediterranean. There is unspoilt cultural land and has something for everyone – from the world famous Costa Smeralda, with breathtaking scenery and exclusive hotels, to the unspoiled southern coast with its many secluded beaches and a Caribbean-like turquoise sea.
Wherever you are in Sardinia, there will be a stunning coastline with beautiful bays and beaches, vibrant yet unspoiled towns to explore, charming villages begging to be discovered and delicious food and wine to be enjoyed. Our hand picked luxury private villas are dotted around the island and are the perfect base from which to explore.
Sardinia has several specialities that are quite different to the cuisine on mainland Italy. The most famous speciality is Porceddu, a slow-roasted suckling pig. Some of our other favourites include Culurgiones, a delicious stuffed pasta, similar to ravioli, Pane Carasau, a crispy, paper-thin traditional bread, and Seadas, a sweet cheese-filled pastry drizzled with honey.
Cagliari is the main town in southern Sardinia and is definitely worth a visit if you are staying in the area. Walk through Castello, a historic area with panoramic views & colourful buildings, visit Poetto Beach, a lively spot near the city and explore the Roman Amphitheater & National Archaeological Museum.
Located in northern Sardinia, you can charter a boat and island-hop between Spargi, Budelli, and Caprera. Visit Spiaggia Rosa (Pink Beach) on Budelli Island and snorkel in crystal-clear waters at Cala Coticcio, known as "Tahiti".
Summer in Sardinia is sunny and can be very hot with temperatures ranging from 28-35°C. The water will be warm and beaches and towns are at their best, although very crowded.
Spring and Autumn are the perfect time to visit Sardinia, with temperatures ranging from 18-30°C and really starting to warm up from May. You can enjoy the beaches, towns and countryside without the large crowds.
Winter has much cooler temperatures of 10-16°C and there will be occasional rain. It is a nice time to explore the historic sites around the island, although most beach resorts will be closed for the season.
