For those seeking adventure, take a private boat charter to the Phi Phi Islands or James Bond Island, where dramatic limestone cliffs and hidden lagoons create unforgettable moments. Phuket’s dining scene is a highlight for luxury travellers. Enjoy gourmet meals at award-winning restaurants or indulge in private, chef-curated dinners featuring the finest local and international flavours. Sunset cocktails at chic beach clubs provide the perfect end to a day of island exploration.
While it is always best for animals to be in the wild, sometimes, for elephants that have been rescued from tourist shows, temples and zoos, an elephant sanctuary is the best place for them. At the Villa Collection we can recommend ethical sanctuaries in the area that focus on education and rehabilitation.
Phang Nga National Marine Park within the Andaman Sea is best explored by sea kayak, but do not worry, you can just sit back and relax in your super stable inflatable kayak while your expert guide guides you around caves and stunning rock formations.
Phuket has a plethora of beautiful beaches, with some significantly busier than others. Some of our favourites include Kamala Beach, a quieter option than nearby Patong, Surin & Bang Tao Beaches, known for their upscale beach clubs and serene vibes, and Freedom Beach, a hidden gem with powdery sand and turquoise waters.
There are lots of islands near Phuket that can be visited either on a private boat or a small group tour. The most famous are Phi Phi Island with its dramatic cliffs, clear waters and Maya Bay, James Bond Island (Khao Phing Kan) & Hong Island with iconic limestone karsts and sea caves, and the Similan Islands which are a divers paradise.
Learn to cook Thai favourites such as pad Thai and green curry from the comfort of your own villa with a private chef or enjoy gourmet meals at local restaurants. For authentic street food there are many night markets and the old town to visit.
Throughout the year there are plenty of festivals that you can take part in, including the Phuket Vegetarian Festival in October, Songkran Festival (Thai New Year) with its large-scale water fights in April and Loy Krathon, the festival of floating lanterns, in November.
Characterised by warm sunny days and calm seas, the temperature will range from 24–32°C. This weather is perfect for beach days, island hopping and snorkelling but does also mean crowds will be bigger, particularly between December and February.
While temperatures remain warm (25–31°C), rain will be frequent, often in short bursts, and seas will be rougher. May and October are more transitional months and can offer some pleasant weather with less crowds, however rain is still likely.
