Calabash at Jumby Bay Island is one of our personal favourites! One of the resorts beach residences, Calabash (previously L’Acqua) is a beautifully conceived four bedroom home with direct access to Jumby Bay Beach. Bedrooms include two Master Suites, a pool suite and a garden suite, each offering super-king beds, air conditioning and fans, and unique indoor and outdoor baths.

This beach residence features a large pool deck, indoor and outdoor dining areas and is set on an acre of tropical gardens that cascade down to the ocean. The property is perfectly located to take advantage of the stunning ocean views across the Caribbean Sea and the beautiful sunsets.

The magnificent oceanfront heated infinity pool provides magical views of Calabash and Jumby Bay Beaches. Set just above sea-level the pool and terrace area seems to float out to the sea, with a wooden sunset deck designed to rest, just above the tide.

Included in the price of Calabash at Jumby Bay Island; gourmet breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea, beverages, cocktails, house wine by the glass, access to resort fitness and tennis facilities, resort pools, croquet lawn, putting green, and use of water sports equipment. Other activities/facilities are available but incur a surcharge, such as deep-sea fishing, Spa, yoga and in-room dining.

Jumby Bay Island boasts several dining outlets which include –

The Estate House – Offering some of the best cuisine in Antigua and signature dishes include Monkfish and black trumpet casserole with crispy jasmine rice pancake; Spiny lobster with Armagnac flambé, tomato, saffron pearl, and sea urchin; and Black sea bass with potato confit.
The Veranda – Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Here you can enjoy freshly caught seafood and select prime and aged steaks.
The Pool Grille – Located between the Caribbean Sea and the resort’s oceanfront infinity pool, this grill serves casual bistro fare for lunch (salads, sandwiches, grilled seafood specialties), as well as house snacks and refreshing cocktails, smoothies and fresh fruit juices throughout the day.
The Beach Shack – Open for informal grab-and-go lunch and offering guests the chance to enjoy local and authentic food in a relaxing atmosphere on the beach. The Beach Shack offers delicious local street food, such as lobster or chicken wraps/rotis, locally caught fish and ceviche.
The Beach Bar – This traditional bohio style bar offers beach service along the pristine sands of Jumby Bay Beach, offering refreshing cocktails, chilled water, fresh towels, and tasty snacks like hand-made ice-cream sandwiches, and fresh fruit sorbets. Private dinners can be arranged for an intimate gathering or a small group.

This island can only be accessed by boat, making it one of the most exclusive private retreats in the Caribbean.

This beach residence is situated on the west coast of the island on Jumby Bay Beach, near to the resort’s facilities and restaurants. Alternatively, you may opt to visit the north of the island, the beautiful unspoiled cove of Pasture Beach.
