    With a history expanding over 3000 years, Sri Lanka has some of world’s ancient cities including  Polonnaruwa and Digamadulla.

    Of all the ancient cities of Lanka, the most famed and most exquisite is the Kingdom of Anuradhapura. Sri Lanka’s third and the longest serving capital and one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world is also one of the most sacred cities of World Buddhists.

    Sigiriya is a must see – a fifth century AD fortress and a water garden displays some of the most futuristic elements of landscaping and some of the oldest murals recorded in the country. Sigiriya offers some of the most captivating views of the whole island.

    Sri Lanka is also famed for its beaches – with nearly 1600 km of of palm fringed Coastline, Sri Lanka is the ideal destination for beach lovers. Whether you prefer windsurfing, kayaking, yachting, water skiing, scuba diving or simply relaxing and enjoying the views, Sri Lanka offers it all.

    The best of the Southern beaches include Tangalla, Beruwala, Mirissa, Bentota and Unawatuna with varying options including chic boutique hotels, glowing coral reefs, gentle sandbars and undiscovered corners of paradise.

    Sri Lankan Airlines offer direct flights from London Heathrow. Other options include Qatar Airways via Doha, Emirates via Dubai and Jet Airways via Mumbai and Etihad  via Abu Dhabi.

    Entry Requirements: You will need a visa to enter Sri Lanka. You can get a short stay visa online at: Electronic Travel Authority (ETA).. Tourist visas are normally issued for a maximum period of 30 days.
    Drink the water: It is advisable to drink only bottled water
    Beaches: A beach lovers haven with long golden beaches, white sandy beaches, secluded beaches.
    Health and Safety: It is advisable to check which inoculations you require with your doctor. Pack your mosquito repellant.
