Estate Argyros is open all year, making it a convenient winery for those visiting out of peak season. There is however a slight change in time throughout the seasons, from May to October they are open 10 am – 9 pm and from November to April, the times are 9 am – 6 pm. With tours and tasting on offer, you can spend your time here trying the delicious blends, all whilst learning more about the vineyard and its surroundings. 

You get a true sense of luxury when visiting Estate Argyros. You will also find plenty of space for parking at Boutari Winery, but if you happen to be visiting from Fira, you can jump on the Fira-Akrotiri that will take you to Megalochori. From here, it is just a short walk to Boutari. 

Venetsanos Winery 

Venetsanos Winery is situated in the quaint village of Megalochori, perched atop a cliff overlooking Santorini’s rugged coastline. The winery dates back to 1947, making this family business one that has long been on the island. 

When visiting Venetsanos, you are met with stunning architecture alongside impressive views over the port of Athinios and the caldera. Not only does this winery offer an unmatched location, but having been here for many years this is somewhere rich in history.

The Art Space Winery has been producing wine since 1861, making it one of the older wineries in Santorini. Upon visiting the Art Space, you will find a cave art gallery and museum, alongside a sleek tasting room sitting in contrast to the surrounding structures. 

There are 20 artists on display at the Art Space at any given time, allowing a great opportunity to see traditional Greek art. Wander through the cave, with its curved walls and interesting architecture. After you have spent some time marvelling over art, or learning about the history here, head to the tasting room to try the excellent wines on offer. 

Unlike many of the other wineries in Santorini, there is no restaurant on-site at The Art Space. However, you will find a great selection of cheese, meat and nibbles, perfect to accompany your wine. Being only 3 miles from Fira means that you could pop into town after exploring here, where you will find numerous mouth-watering restaurants to enjoy. 

Take the Fira-Kamari bus route to access the Art Space Winery. Ask the driver to drop you at Art Space and from here it takes around 7 minutes to walk to the winery and museum.
